Pam Abbey (Peggy
Pam’s theatrical career began when she produced, directed and starred in her fourth grade Halloween play. Over the years, favorite roles included Antigone; Regan in King Lear; Jennet Jourdemayne in The Lady’s Not for Burning T ; Mrs. Webb in Our Town and The Lion in Androcles and the Lion. Pam is a United Methodist pastor and has served the congregation of Concord UMC for the past seven years. She enjoys cooking, gardening and living with her husband, Kent Parr, who is an attorney and musician, and enormously patient! She feels very blessed by the opportunity to be part of the Contra Costa Christian Theatre community.

Patricia Deery (Polly)
Patricia returns to the stage having just portrayed Mrs. Martini in Contra Costa Christian Theatre's It’s a Wonderful Life. Previously Patricia spent 10 years in Dublin, Ireland, where she first became involved in community theater, and was fortunate to be cast in a wide variety of roles including Laura in The Glass Menagerie; Amelia in The House of Bernarda Alba; Suzy in I Do Not Like Thee Dr. Fell; and Madame Xenia in The Killing of Sister George. Her second play in five years, Patricia is delighted to be re-entering the world of theater with the support of Contra Costa Christian Theatre.

Leona Hoegsberg (Phoebe)
Leona is excited to be back performing with Contra Costa Christian Theatre, having just played Tilly in It’s a Wonderful Life. She has done theatre for many years and some of her favorite roles have been Miss Hannigan in Annie; the stepsister in Cinderella; and Mae Peterson in Bye, Bye Birdie. Leona also does Christian dramatic portrayals (such as Fanny Crosby) and Christian and secular storytelling. In addition, she works as a librarian and tutor. Leona thanks God for His gift of salvation and for the joy of serving Him through drama.

Heather Lane (Betsy)
Heather is blessed to return to Contra Costa Christian Theatre where she played Rose Benjamin in God’s Favorite. She recently appeared as Mrs. Danvers in Rebecca with Act Now! Previous credits include Mountain Days with Willows Theatre; Amanda in Private Lives; Amanda in The Glass Menagerie; Cassandra in Trojan Women and Wendy in Peter Pan. Heather holds an MA in Speech Communications from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She sends special love and thanks to her friends and family for their relentless prayers, and to the God who sustains her.

Kate Lewis (Fanny)
A 20-year veteran of theatre, Kate is thrilled to be involed in her third production with Contra Costa Christian Theatre. Recently, she portrayed Miss Andrews in It’s a Wonderful Life. Kate attended the Scottsdale Conservatory for the Arts in Arizona, performing on stage and serving in several backstage roles. Her performances included I Ought to be in Pictures, Masterpieces, and The Rimers of Eldrich. Prior to her association with Contra Costa Christian Theatre, Kate was a member of the 34 West Theatre Company in Boardman, OH, performing in such faith-oriented plays as John: His Story, The Little Prince, The Magician’s Nephew, and Christmas on Treasure Island. Kate thanks her husband Nathan for his support.

Elizabeth Marsh (Fannie)
This is Elizabeth’s first production with Contra Costa Christian Theatre and she is thrilled to be onstage again. Her past productions include The Importance of Being Earnest; Cabaret; The Complete Works of William Shakespeare...Abridged; and playing Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Elizabeth would like to thank God for this amazing opportunity to minister to others through theater. She also thanks her friends, family, and kung-fu fighting hamsters everywhere.

Bryn Smallwood-Garcia (Rachel)
Originally from NC, Bryn studied acting at ACT, but later received her MDiv & MA in Liturgical Drama from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley. Currently Bryn is Associate Pastor at Orinda Community Church. Having written and directed many plays for worship, her last stage role was in Our Town (Emily) in 1989, so she is thrilled to be on stage again with Contra Costa Christian Theatre. Bryn lives in Berkeley with her children Jacob, 10, and Lela, 8 and her husband John, a comic book artist whom she met while performing in A Midsummer’s Night Dream with San Francisco’s Shakespeare in the Park in 1985.

Rose Marie Sweeney (Hannah)
Rose Marie is delighted to be involved in her third production with Contra Costa Christian Theatre. Audiences last saw her as Aunt Ev in The Miracle Worker. With this show, she is excited to take on the additional challenge of being the costume manager. Recent acting credits include Dreamweavers Theatre: The Mouse Trap (Mrs. Boyle); The Man Who Came to Dinner (Daisy Stanley); Scotland Road (Dr. Halbrech); Steambath (Tandy); and Benicia OTTG’s Sylvia (Kate). Favorite roles from long ago and far away (Maine and Guam) include: All My Sons (Kate); Mame (Mame); Steel Magnolias (Ouiser, Mlynn); House of Blue Leaves (Bananas). Rose Marie wishes to thank her husband Ed for his love and support.

Bonnie Young (Jane)
Always interested in art, music, dance and drama, Bonnie graduated from UCLA with a major in English/Theatre Arts. Among her college memoirs are roles in Anastasia (Anastasia) and Green Valley (Pam). Bonnie studied ballet and was involved with Arabian horse shows for many years. After marriage she entered teaching, using her theatrical background in the classroom, school talent shows and musical programs. Recently appearing in Hannah! (Sally), The Beams are Creaking (Paula Bonhoeffer) and It’s a Wonderful Life (Mrs. Hatch, Mrs. Thompson), she is happy to be a part of the Contra Costa Christian Theatre ministry.
